SPIRITUAL EXPLORATIONS – 352

But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

+ Who is right?  Ike or Goering? I like Ike.  He is right.  It’s a matter of time.  I can’t tell you when the government is going to get out of the way and let the people have peace but I can tell you that it will happen.  You and I are determined to make it so.

In the 60s and 70s a popular slogan was: THERE IS NO WAY TO PEACE. PEACE IS THE WAY. You are a peaceful person. You are a peacemaker. You are a heavenly being bringing peace to the world with your love, your wisdom, your devotion. “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”  Too many lives have been destroyed by war, by violence, by hate, by injustice, by oppression, by ignorance and fear. You are changing this. You are making all things new now. You are doing a “new thing” now.

Because humans have a biological fight-or-flight mechanism, we all too often miss opportunities to create a more peaceful planet. We have to become far more aware, far more vigilant, far more educated, humble, forgiving, non-judgmental, move beyond anger. Saying we want peace is not enough. In so many situations, reconciliation is needed. Indeed this is an imperative. This is one of the most important characteristics of the GELF, the GREAT EVOLUTIONARY LEAP FORWARD, which is happening now. It is definitely happening now. This is such a hopeful, encouraging development. People are seeking reconciliation more and more.

Look for that. Don’t dwell on the negative. Yes, there is conflict in the world. There is plenty of violence, hatred, suspicion, ignorance. You can’t miss it and sometimes you have to deal with it. But don’t dwell on it. Don’t stay there. There is far more peace on the planet than war, far more love than hate, far more beauty than ugliness.
