SPIRITUAL EXPLORATIONS – 311

+ We are called to create and enjoy a realm of compassion, peace, justice and sustainable abundance for all.

+
O sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
          break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
-- Psalm 98: 1a,4

+
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
so that those who love your name may exult in you.
For you bless the righteous, O LORD;
you cover them with favor as with a shield.
-- Psalm 5:11-12

+ The phrase “let all who take refuge in you rejoice” is especially poignant in Utica NY which, for many years, has been welcoming and continues to welcome many refugees.  They need “protection” and it is good to be part of a community which knows this and does this.

The church where Mary & I go, First Presbyterian Church, Utica NY, is the home of The Joyful Noise Café.  This is based on the Psalm which says: “Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord.”  It is a beautiful thing to join with others and “sing for joy.”

+ Spirituality & Practice offers plenty of resources on the spiritual practice of Joy. Also, there is an S&P Twelves Gallery of memes on Joy.

+ I would love it if you offered a guest post.  And, I have work to do on the Abundancetrek Joy page.  Maybe you can help.  Send an email with the subject “Joy” or “Heavenly Attributes” or “Guest Post” to John@abundancetrek.com.
