+ To base a religious philosophy on questions instead of answers increases the likelihood of wonder and amazement.
-- Lawrence Kushner

+ Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.
-- Rainer Maria Rilke

+ What is required of us is that we love the difficult and learn to deal with it. In the difficult are the friendly forces, the hands that work on us. Right in the difficult we must have our joys, our happiness, our dreams: there against the depth of this background, they stand out, there for the first time we see how beautiful they are.
-- Rainer Maria Rilke

+ Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment.
-- Rumi

+ Making a Vision Quest is a Native American tradition which has inspired many of us in recent decades.  Elders teach their adolescents that such a quest is a necessary passage into adulthood.  This wisely teaches adolescents to find answers within themselves even though this may be much more difficult than getting answers from others.

Perhaps all of life can be viewed as a Vision Quest since we always have plenty more to learn and many changes to go through on this amazing journey.  Isn’t it wonderful?

+ Spirituality & Practice offers many resources on the spiritual practice of Questing and a Twelves Gallery on Questing.  The meme above comes from that gallery.

+ Spirituality & Practice offers 37 Spiritual Practices with an abundance of ideas and resources for this essential practice. Some of my favorites are Attention, Being Present, Connections, Enthusiasm, Imagination, Listening, Meaning, Openness, Questing, Reverence, Silence, Transformation and Vision. Pick one or 2 and see where you are led as you continue to discern your purpose, your path, your mission, your next step.
+ I have work to do on my Discernment page.   Maybe you can help.  Send an email with the subject “Discernment” to John@abundancetrek.com
